      The Finger Lakes area is New York's largest wine producing region. Over 100 wineries and vineyards are located around Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Conesus, and Hemlock Lakes. Because of the lakes' great depth, they provide a lake effect to the lush vineyards that flank their shores.

      The Finger Lakes has become one of he most diversified agricultural areas of New York. The region is also home to a hard cider renaissance, a strong cheese alliance, and a broad range of farms participating agri-tourismMost of the farms are family owned and range from part-time farmers to large farms with millions of dollars invested. In addition to dozens of dairy farms, the local farms also produce a variety of flavorful grapes, apples, cherries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries depending on the season.

      Atwater Estate Vineyards


      Atwater Estate Vineyards is located on the southeastern shore of Seneca Lake in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country. The estate's vineyards contain sixteen different varieties of grapes that grow on a beautiful glacier-carved hillside that extends from the tasting room to just above the water’s edge.Atwater's portfolio of wines include dynamic varietals and artful blends to please every palate.

      With a spectacular panoramic view of the lake as a backdrop, the estate's tasting room is open to sample current vintages throughout the year. Atwater produces 8,000 cases of wine per year. For more information visit

      Blue Heron Farm


      Blue Heron Farm specializes in growing organic produce for wholesale, retail and restaurant markets in Ithaca, Brooklyn, and the Finger Lakes. Farmers Robin Ostfeld and Lou Johns have co-owned and managed Blue Heron as a certified organic farm since 1987.

      The farm family is very committed to maintaining the health and biodiversity of their farm, and growing the most nutritious and tasty food possible. They use beneficial insects to eat pests like aphids in the greenhouses, and create habitat in their fields for beneficials and insect-eating birds.

      Muranda Cheese Company


      The Muranda Cheese Company produces all natural, raw cheeses using only milk from Registered Holsteins raised on site in Waterloo, N.Y. 

      Tom and Nancy Murray have been raising some of the world’s most well-known Holstein cows for more than two decades. In 1997, one of the Murray’s Muranda cows set the world record for milk production and held it for 13 years.

      Varick Winery


      Varick Winery was founded in 2004 on the west shore of Cayuga Lake.  It sits on 148 acres and features a new winery and tasting room, an 1833 cobblestone house, an 1820's German forebay barn, 26 acres of wine grapes, 3 acres of table grapes and 5 acres of cherries. 

      Since 2004, the Rozzano family has had the pleasure of crafting wine and preparing savory dishes to share with their guests. The winery also grows cherries and hosts an annual cherry festival that will coincide with the Farm to Fork Fondo event.

      Lively Run Goat Dairy


      Lively Run Dairy is one of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in the country, beginning production in New York in 1982 and pioneering goat cheese in the American marketplace. The current owners of Lively Run, the Messmer family, took over operations in 1995, after Steve Messmer was discharged from military service and brought his family back from Europe in the early 1990s. 

      The entire Messmer family and Lively Run staff works to continue the mission of bringing healthy, sustainable, and delicious cheese reminiscent of the cheese they enjoyed while living in Germany and France to the growing Finger Lakes region.

      Silver Queen Farm


      Silver Queen Farms is a small, family-owned farm in Trumansburg, NY started by Gordie and Liz Gallup in 2001. The farm grows a variety of crops, and hosts weddings and other events.

      The farm is open for pick-your-own strawberries in the month of June, just in time for Farm to Fork Fondo - Finger Lakes. The farm's produce is also available at the barn store from June-October, at local farmers’ markets, and as u-pick fruit and vegetables at the farm throughout the summer. They also have a Market Share CSA.

      Plow Break Farm


      Plowbreak Farm was started 5 years ago by husband and wife Aaron Munzer and Kara Cusolito in Hector, New York near Seneca Lake. They grow 113 varieties of vegetables, herbs and annual fruit — from arugula, lettuce and kale to tomatoes, onions, thyme, watermelons and husk cherries. They feed 75 families through a CSA and also sell to local restaurants committed to offering fresh local food.
