In its April issue of 2019, Eating Well offered recommendations for readers looking to add a taste for adventure to their summer. We're excited to announce that the Farm to Fork Fondo series was among four events featured in the Good Life, Travel section, where outdoor activities meet gourmet food.
Various locations Inspired by the Italian tradition of eating heartily on long-distance rides the Farm to Fork Fondo pairs countryside views and locally sourced eats with a day-long, 100-mile ride. Don’t worry, you can opt to do a shorter distance on these rides. Held in Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and Vermont, each event kicks off with a Meet the Farmers feast the night before, and concludes with a farm-fresh dinner. And expect fabulous eats along the ride, too. You might sample mint-chip ice cream made with milk from the cows you just passed, a homemade raspberry bar, and a grass-fed beef empanada. Select dates June through October, starting at $40. farmtoforkfondo.com
